Summary

I loved Lucas, but Aaron Blackford always gonna be my favorite 🥺。 But, Lucas is such a cute man I loved him, the way he is, how he helped Ro。 In general, the I loved the book but The Spanish Love Deception is my favorite 🥰🤍

This book might be 3。4 stars。 I listened to the audio book, which I do not recommend。 The male voice - Lucas - was too breathy and the female voice - Rosie - was over acted and shrill。 Both were too distracting。 I almost abandoned this book because of it。 I didn't know this was a sequel。 If I select The Spanish Love Selection I will read it, not listen to the audio version。 As a potential author, I am curious about how people deal with writer's block and Rosie's solution is a fun solution。 Thoug This book might be 3。4 stars。 I listened to the audio book, which I do not recommend。 The male voice - Lucas - was too breathy and the female voice - Rosie - was over acted and shrill。 Both were too distracting。 I almost abandoned this book because of it。 I didn't know this was a sequel。 If I select The Spanish Love Selection I will read it, not listen to the audio version。 As a potential author, I am curious about how people deal with writer's block and Rosie's solution is a fun solution。 Though the love story is predictable, I like the "truth" message related to all characters。 Not being honest in relationships can cause so many preventable problems, which I have witnessed (though not experienced) in real life。 A favorite character, Taco, could have been included earlier in the story with good effect for Lucas' character。 。。。more

first things first, a bit of background about this before we start。 this is about Rosie, who is Lena’s best friend and Lucas, who is Lena’s cousin。 Rosie was an engineer turning into a romance author who finds herself experiencing a series of unfortunate events。 first, her apartment ceilings break down basically leaving her homeless。 second, she’s a romance author but she is unable to write a single scene in her new book。 and third, when she stays at her best friend’s apartment, Rosie discovers first things first, a bit of background about this before we start。 this is about Rosie, who is Lena’s best friend and Lucas, who is Lena’s cousin。 Rosie was an engineer turning into a romance author who finds herself experiencing a series of unfortunate events。 first, her apartment ceilings break down basically leaving her homeless。 second, she’s a romance author but she is unable to write a single scene in her new book。 and third, when she stays at her best friend’s apartment, Rosie discovers that Lena has owed the apartment to her cousin, Lucas。 and through this series of unfortunate events, Lucas decides to help her。 when Lucas finds out her predicament, he recommends that they share the apartment and he discovers her writer’s block, he takes her on fake dates to get over it。what better way for romance to bloom than fake dating?! let’s not lie we all love a fake dating show because what better way to show someone you love than fake dating them— taking them on all these romantic dates, cooking for them, basically paying attention to whatever they like, showing them what real romance looks like。 it always ends well because it’s never fake, IT’S NEVER FAKE DATING! IT ALL TURNS REAL IN THE END! it’s the slow burn, those little things they discover about each other and then slowly realising “i have feelings for this person” JUST GIVE ME THAT PLEASE! Lucas is your flirty boy next door, who cooks for you, who is actually charming, who’s really a nice person in the end, he’s got golden retriever energy, as much as we on booktok love the morally gray or dark fantasy type of man who’s brooding and cool, let’s face it in reality, we’re gonna go for a guy like Lucas— the guy who pays attention, who’s present, who has an amazing sense of humour。 。。。more

This was so NOT my kind of book。 There was nothing to draw me into the story。 It felt plotless and there was an empty, forced chemistry between the two main characters that made red flags go up all around。 They were “in love” way too fast。 Rosie was so insecure and relied on Lucas’ attention for her happiness and confidence。 It was all very shallow and unhealthy。 There was also zero storyline aside from the “when will they get together”, which made the book feel very, very long and boring。 The a This was so NOT my kind of book。 There was nothing to draw me into the story。 It felt plotless and there was an empty, forced chemistry between the two main characters that made red flags go up all around。 They were “in love” way too fast。 Rosie was so insecure and relied on Lucas’ attention for her happiness and confidence。 It was all very shallow and unhealthy。 There was also zero storyline aside from the “when will they get together”, which made the book feel very, very long and boring。 The author attempted to add some substance by adding in an injury and a problematic brother…but it was all too meager。There was also too much meta/autobiographical stuff happening。 The main character is an author dealing with writer’s block on her second book that’s about the best friend from book 1。 So basically this exact book。I finished it purely because I did not want to have an unfinished book on my shelf。 But this was definitely not for me。 。。。more

Found this to be a bit boring。 I didn’t really like the dynamic between Rosie and Lucas。 I would skip to the dialogues and that is when I know I did not love the book。 It was cute, but not as good as The Spanish Love Deception for me。 It took me a few tries to finish this book。

Remember to pick the boy that will plant a garden for you instead of just getting you the flowers, BeanI'm telling you, this book has set my standards for men straight through the roof。 Though I'm not a big fan of slow burns, this book is a game-changer。 Like?? Everything included here is so heartwarming and cute?? Seriously, Lucas is the man every girl would've asked for。 But frankly speaking, it is a bit bothersome how it is clear that they liked each other but won't make a move aaaa。But anyth Remember to pick the boy that will plant a garden for you instead of just getting you the flowers, BeanI'm telling you, this book has set my standards for men straight through the roof。 Though I'm not a big fan of slow burns, this book is a game-changer。 Like?? Nothing。 She was nothing。 I got more from Lina (a side character that appeared like 4 times in the entire thing) than I did from all 406 pages of Rosie。 I have nothing to say about her。 4th- Though I very much liked the beginning of this book, the 2nd half was just plain bad。 I can’t quite put my finger on the exact point I started hating it but trust me it’s in there。 It was bad。 Especially the ending。 The minute they hooked up and Lucas only had a week left I already knew shit was gonna hit the fucking fan。 And then he got up in the middle of the night without saying anything to Rosie and just left。 Like what???????? AND THEN when she appeared at the airport in her fucking pijamas all this motherfucking coward could say was “I can’t” YOU CANT??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN。 LIKE WHAT CANT YOU DO。 THIS GIRL DESERVED A GOOD ASS EXPLANATION AND YET SHE GOT NOTHING。 LIKE FUCK YOU MAN。 AND THEN THIS LITTLE FUCKER PROCEEDED TO NOT TALK TO HER FOR FUCKING MONTHS。 LIKE WTF。 AND EVEN WHEN LINA CALLED HIM LIKE HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY BE SHOCKED SHE LOVED HIM LIKE???? WHAT。 HOW CAN A PERSON BE SO DUMB。 And what’s funny is that he was shocked for a good five minutes and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing about it。 Like months went by and he did NOTHING。 While that girl was in NY ugly crying all day and he was chilling at home eating his fancy little dinners or whatever。 Like you can not tell me he gave a single fuck cause he didn’t。 And then of course he came back out of nowhere and surprised her and she forgave him in 2 seconds。 Rosie you deserve better babe + his explanation was shit (and late AF) Well that’s all I guessAlso, 99% sure Lina is pregnant 。。。more

So tropey。 Good fun。 I might have liked it more if I didn't have a good friend named Lucas, and if that doesn't tell you something about the depth of the characters here, nothing will。 So tropey。 Good fun。 I might have liked it more if I didn't have a good friend named Lucas, and if that doesn't tell you something about the depth of the characters here, nothing will。 。。。more
